Weather Witches Wanted!

For all students staying on campus this holiday:

Preparations for the Winter Festival begin tomorrow. As we haven't quite had the snow we'd like, we need some of you weather kids out on the grounds tomorrow morning at 8am to help get things moving.

If you've got any level of experience in cryokinesis - contemporary, classic, or ancient - or an elemental ability that could help produce heaps of fluffy white snow, or are handy at running some of our old weather control machines, we could really use your help.

Plus - donuts! Tomorrow morning at 8am - meet in the courtyard outside the commons.

See you there!

I must agree with @Squiggly! The ice sculptures throughout campus have been a real triumph this year, from the Ibis Cult Student Union's magnificent Thoth in the courtyard, to the Madame Blavatsky crafted by the Psychic Feminist Leadership Club outside of Florence Hall.

But it doesn't end there! Winter Festival continues tomorrow with amazing wintery treats and surprises throughout campus.

Tonight, Weather Witches please meet up in the courtyard at 11pm so we can keep everything perfectly iced up.

See you there!

Big Jim

Volunteers needed for Secret Government Internship!

Dear Students,

We have a wonderful opportunity for the right kind of students looking to get a leg up in their post-Psyhigh careers.

As you are no doubt aware, Psyhigh has wonderful relationships with a number of secret supra-governmental organizations around the world (which we are not allowed to name, both by law and because of the unspeakable, cyclopean entities that can be summoned by saying their names out loud). Psyhigh is able to place students in positions with these organizations, where they can gain valuable experience in such fields as psychic surveillance, remote demolition, and diplomatic demonic binding.

We currently have openings for part-time hours that can easily be fit around your schedule!

While we are unable to say *exactly* what kind of skills we're looking for, let's just say it's "communications" oriented (I'm looking at you, @Illu Minati! But all students are certainly welcome to apply).

Interested students stop in at the Dean's office, and tell them Big Jim sent you!

Psychic Crime Family Picnic
-
2/21/2015 2:49pm

Hello @Tony24,

Today is the arrival of the Psychic Crime Families for their annual picnic, which is tomorrow on Lower Campus.

Though you may not know it, a number of our students - your classmates - are heirs to Psychic Crime Families from around the world, with a fair number from extraterrestrial and interdimensional locales as well.

Their families like to come and visit for this annual event, and it's also a time for prospective students from similar families to visit. Many are important donors to the school as well, so the Dean likes to spend time with their Dons during this time too.

The picnic is open to all students, so be sure to join us tomorrow! We just ask that you be respectful, and don't inadvertently fuel or resurrect any of the long standing, ancient feuds between them.

Personal Night Training Coaches
-
3/10/2015 7:58pm

@Cassie is really enjoying working on her esoteric yoga practice with her own personal Night Training coach. She finds her mind clearer, her spirit more flexible, and she feels incredibly refreshed the next day. Let's hear what @Cassie has to say:

"It's like there's a whole new person inside me. Or vice versa!"

Wouldn't you like to achieve the clarity that @Cassie has? Now you can! Head down to the Hypno-gym for signups now. And tell 'em Big Jim sent ya!

The Bees and Beekeepers Spring Formal
-
4/30/2015 12:42pm

Looking forward to seeing everybody this Saturday night at Psyhigh's annual Bees and Beekeepers dance!

Now, it's that moment you've all been waiting for - the crowing of Head Beekeeper to preside over this year's soiree. As usual, voting was held in secret by the Insect Council, with much horse-trading and negotiation, and no small amount of violence between the council members. Now, after weeks of deliberation, they've made their decision.

So, without any further ado, this year's Head Beekeeper for the 2015 Bees and Beekeepers spring formal is:

@Jessica Moon!!!

Congratulations Jessica.

The dance will begin promptly at 8pm on Saturday in Nectaries Observatory. As is tradition, the Head Beekeeper will get things moving by being the first to perform the ritual Waggle Dance, surrounded by her court and all the attendees.

See you all Saturday night!

The Bees and Beekeepers Spring Formal
-
5/2/2015 2:47pm

To kick off tonight's Bees and Beekeepers dance, the Parade of the Insects begins in the Stinky Flower Garden at 3pm. It will wind its way to Nectaries Observatory, where the insects will begin the ritual encasement of the building in their webs, egg masses, silk, grasshopper tobacco, bits of stick and mud and dung, and spit.

We'll cut our way through the pan-insect cocoon at 7:30 and open the doors for students. Promptly at 8pm, Head Beekeeper @Jessica Moon will begin the Waggle Dance, surrounded by her Bee Court (Who has Jessica selected for her court? We can't wait to find out!). Students will then interpret the moves in Jessica's Waggle Dance and join in. The dance will be recorded and studied by our Waggle Dance experts who will then be able to determine the position of The Heart of Spring for this year.

Also at tonight's dance will be a special recognition of May's Student of the Month - @Scilph! So if you haven't had time to congratulate her in person, tonight will be a great time.

Musical guests tonight will be The Crickets - courtesy of the Psychic Necromusicology Department. They've begun the summoning rituals now and the band should be fully corporeal in time for the Waggle Dance.

Looking forward to a fabulous night! See you all there!

Darkness

The Heart of Spring has been recovered!

While the Bees and Beekeepers Spring Formal is indeed a gala affair, we must remember the true meaning of the dance - the Waggle Dance, that is.

This year's Head Beekeeper, @Jessica Moon, did a splendid job in leading the Waggle Dance, and I'm sure I speak for the entire school when we extend our heartfelt compassion for the trouble she's endured since.

However, after reviewing the tapes, the school's Waggle Dance experts were able to interpret the subtle moves of Jessica's Waggle Dance (and the ensuing Waggle Dance of the student body in attendance) and very accurately determine the location of The Heart of Spring for this year.

A recovery team was sent - helicopters, spelunkers, etheric removal experts, etc. - and after carefully examining the location (and taking full measure of psychogeographic regulations into account) were able to extract The Heart of Spring, transfer it to its ritual palanquin, and return it to the school.

As our older students know, The Heart of Spring is no mere bauble, but a vital piece of the Uber-Psyche of not only the school but the entire extra-sensory network that Psyhigh is situated upon. Each year its use is given deep and careful thought.

Which is why this year, The Heart of Spring has been delivered to @Jessica Moon - or, more accurately, her close friend @Scilph - in hopes that its presence and proximity to @Jessica Moon will help speed her recovery from her unfortunate situation.

I would like all students to consider The Heart of Spring and what it represents, and use it as a conduit to send their most positive energies through to aid in @Jessica Moon's recovery.

Yours in the Great Waggle Dance,

Big Jim
